Public institution „Donja Gradina Memorial” is a monument to victims of nazi crimes committed between 1941. – 1945. against “non-desirable” ethnic, racial and confessional groups such as Serbs, Jews and Roma, as well as antifascists, regardless of their confession and ethnic group, opposed to the nazi-regime of the then Indepedent State of Croatia (ISC).

It will remain an eternal reminder of the extent of a human crime against another human; a universal and easily comprehensible message to all peoples around the world aimed at ensuring similar crimes are never repeated again.

Public institution „Donja Gradina Memorial” occupies 117 ha and is situated on the right bank of the Sava River. Until 1991., it made a unique landmark with the Jasenovac Memorial in the neighboring Croatia. The Open-air museum is arranged in such a way as to provide for full authenticity of the memorial site, with minimal intervention in space. The Memorial is visited by over 20000 people yearly.

All relevant information about the Jasenovac camp and the horrendous events from WWII which took place in the wider area of Kozarska Dubica can be obtained from the professional staff.  Opening hours: on weekdays from 07:00 am – 3:00 pm, on Saturdays and Sundays, with prior announcement of group visits.
